Markley Wedding Cake Mr. and Mrs. Markley Mr. and Mrs. Markley Markley Wedding Group Wedding Gift Bags

Sgt. Grit,

I wanted to send you a few pictures of my son and his new wife. Sgt. Greg Markley arrived at MCAS, Beaufort in May of 2006 after a 2 year tour in Iwakuni, Japan. 9 days later he met Kathryn Drennan and they were married November 25, 2007 in Ohio. Katie wanted to have as much of the military involved in her wedding as she could. As you can see he wore his dress blues. She saw the cake topper that you carry and wanted it for her cake. The wedding was a great success and your staff helped to make this so. We also used the goblets. And there was a small snafu, which your staff corrected very quickly for me. I also used the Beanie Bear as a gift for the 2 cute little flower girls. They were a big hit. They so fell in love with Greg so now they have their own Greg. I hope you enjoy the pictures. And again thank you from the bottom of my heart for your wonderful service. read more

Service Ribbon Ski Helmet

I served one tour in Vietnam, first with the 81 mm mortar platoon, H&S Co., 2/3/3. When the 3rd Division left, I was transferred to the 60 mm mortar squad, Lima Co., 3/5/1. I?ve always been proud to say that I?m a Marine and a Vietnam veteran. The attached pictures are of my ski helmet, covered with small service ribbon decals, earned while in the Corps. read more

Marines of 2026 Update

Sgt. Grit,

When my twin grandboys were born, I submitted a picture of them as new borns wearing Marine Corps t-shirts (Rug Grunt) and you published them on your site as my Marines of 2026. Well, they’re now 3 years old and I continue to buy them updated Marine Corps t-shirts for each size they grow into. I’ve now taken it one step further and have them running with me at the park where I run 4 1/2 miles 3 days a week. Although I couldn’t get them to follow cadence, it’s a start! read more
