Patriot Guard Bike

Attached are a couple of photos on how I am using the clips and a decal I just got from ya’ll. One of the uses for my newest ride is as a Patriot Guard bike. I needed a way to attach my windshield banner when I ride with the PGR and yet be able to easily remove it when not. I chose your clips over the plain ones and mounted the decal center of windshield where it is always on display. I sent two photos of the clips, one a closeup and the other shows the decal and all 4 clips in use. read more

Marine Corps Bikes

One of the benefits of being old and retired is that you can take trips and see new things anytime you want to. The wife and I took a day trip across the valley to go see the new Harley Davidson dealer in Scottsdale. When we walked in the door, there were five motorcycles on display which were representative of the five branches of U.S. armed services. read more

Patriot Series Harley Davidson

I bought my first Harley through HD's military sales program in 1991, a Softtail Custom. Now on my third HD, it is also USMC related, it's a 2007 Road King Classic "Patriot" series USMC model (they did other models as Patriot series that year). The designation Patriot got you a special tank emblem that included the seal for your branch of service. My best friend is the general manager at the dealer. He lived a couple blocks away and used to swing by after work for a "cup of whiskey." A $17K bike was soon over $20K, but when I picked up "The Sarge" there was a bottle of JD in each saddle bag! read more

PGR Bike

I thought you might like to see what an old Marine can come up with in his spare time.  If you look close you can see my home made flag mount on the back of the sissybar.  I picked up a hunk of aluminum at a recycling center and using only handtools shaped the plate.  I then had it powder coated. I painted on both sides 'Semper Fi', though it is getting a bit worn now it is still visible.  I also have mounted the metal EGA emblems on the side of the battery cover as well as the left side electronics cover.  I get many comments and questions on my rather uniquely designed flag mount.  Twice people have asked if it was a mortar tube, civilians what can I say.  The bag on the back I had custom made to fit my flag mount as I like the lean look on my ride.  I still need to carry rain gear, tools, and lots of water when I stand the flag line here in Florida.  The bike is a 1994 Dyna Wide Glide with over 110,000 on it.  Miles these days are mostly for PGR missions, however this bike has been in all of the lower 48 when I took 4+ months to ride this great country. read more

Protected Me

Kristy,   I purchased a helmet from you a few months ago.  I was wearing it when I had an accident last Thursday.  It did its job.  It got a little skinned up but it protected me as it should have.  I'm working with the insurance company who will be replacing it, so I'll be ordering a new one in the next day or so, but wanted to send a picture of what I submitted to them.   Attached are the results of the accident. Mind you I was only going 25 mph. I slipped on black ice and came down on asphalt.   Stay safe out there and Semper Fi.   Respectfully, Frederick C. Montney III MSgt USMC Retired.

Full-faced Helmet

Just a heads up that a friend of mine was riding his motorcycle in southwestern Iowa earlier this week and managed to total his bike in an accident. I reached him on his cell phone at the hospital later in the day (actually expected his buddy to answer, but Dwight did) and he informed me that he didn't have a concussion or any other head injuries due to his full-faced helmet that he had been purchased from Sgt. Grit. Once he's released from the hospital, I told him he owed Sgt. Grit a thank you and a new order for a replacement. read more

Mean Marine Machine

My husband I are both Viet Nam Marine Veterans. I wanted to personally thank him for his service and for being such a wonderful husband, friend and someone who loves God, Corps and Country as much as I do. (We met on 8/2010 and were married 38 days later) We bought a Can Am Spyder because of medical conditions we both have ( his are contributed to his tour in Nam) read more
