Scorpion In Your Tent

A scorpion in striking stance

A man was conducting an All Service member briefing one day, and he posed the question: “What would you do if you found a scorpion in your tent?”

A Sailor said, “I’d step on it.”

A Soldier said, “I’d hit it with my boot.”

A Marine said, “I’d catch it, break the stinger off, and eat it.”

An Airman said, “I’d call room service and find out why there’s a damn tent in my room.”

  1. I told that joke at a church potluck dinner. Sitting across from me was a retire Coast Guard Captain. After the laughter died down the Captain’s wife asked about what a coast guardsman would do? I told her I was only talking about military people. The retired Captain laughed and said he knew that was coming.

  2. Like the joke. This actually happened to me in a pup tent. Just scooped it out with an e-tool and killed it, but only one so not enough to eat.

  3. On deployment to 29 Palms, we would find the scorpions and spray them with Freon. The bugs would stop moving and freeze up. Then the Freon would wear off and they would start moving again. We would continue this for a while until we ran out of Freon. Very Funny. Nothing more dangerous than a bored Marine.
