Sgt. Hugh Charles Krampe
19 APR 1925 – 5 SEP 2016
You know Sgt. Krampe better as Hugh O’Brian “The Life and Legend of Wyatt Earp” 1955-1961.
Sgt Grit is a place where Marines can come and meet other Marines, share tattoos and stories, keep up with Marine Corps news, or shop for USMC gear.
Must have know he was a USMC Brother in Arms.
Hugh O’ Brian was the reviewing guest of honor at an MCRD San Diego recruit graduation and I attended it with retired friends. I bumped into my former work secretary and we shared some small talk and I told her the guest of honor was a famous actor who had played Wyatt Earp and she smiled and burst out with joy exclaiming Curt Russell. I explained to her that long before she was born he starred on television as Wyatt Earp. I hope her D.I. husband told her about him. RIP and Semper Fi Marine.
Temper fi Hugh Kramer I loved the television series the legend of Wyatt warp! You will be deeply missed Rip brother!

Besides being the youngest DI, he was a member of the West Coast DI Association.
I always liked watching him as Marshal Wyatt Earp “Brave,Courageous, and Bold. Long live his fame, and long live his glory and long may his story be told”.
I remember the show well. Rest in peace. Semper Fi
